Jamie Oistad, 39, died on Monday, Septemer 28, 2009 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2009 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held Friday 5-8 PM, October 2, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.

Jamie Jon Oistad was born July 3, 1970 in Karlstad, MN the son of Mark and Janet (Chwialkowski) Oistad. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith. He attended school at Aurora-Hoyt Lakes, MN.

In 1993, Jamie was blessed with a daughter, Kali Jade. He moved to Thief River Falls, MN in the mid-1990s and in 1998 met the love of his life, Heather Holthusen. They were married September 17, 2005 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. This relationship was blessed with two children, Madison and Morgan.

Jamie worked for the last eleven years at Northwest Beverage in Thief River Falls, MN. He helped expand the water department. Jamie did his job with an upbeat positive attitude and enjoyed the relationship that he developed with his customers. He was also a big promoter of the energy drink line, especially Monster.

He was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN.

Jamie took pride in mowing and doing yard work. He was a huge sports fan and on Sundays could be found in his Vikings jersey with his brother, Scott cheering on their team. Holidays were a special time for Jamie. He made it special for the kids, which was easy for him because he was a big kid himself.

Jamie was a very detail oriented person and everything had its place. Jamie and Heather finished building their house in 2007. It was a project which they were both very proud of. Jamie worked hard to help provide a better life for his family. He was a real family man and yet with all of that he was a quiet man, who needed his own space. He was more comfortable without a big crowd.

Survivors include his wife, Heather of Thief River Falls; three daughters, Kali, Madison & Morgan all at home; father, Mark Oistad of Bloomington, MN; brother, Scott Oistad of Karlstad, MN; grandmother, Jordis Oistad of Karlstad, MN; mother-in-law, Barb Holthusen (fiance, Mike Solsten) of Thief River Falls; father-in-law, John Holthusen of Thief River Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Christy (Tim) Quinn of Bemidji, MN and Keri (Kevin) Sorter of Thief River Falls; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jamie is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Johnson on July 15, 2008; niece, Amanda Oistad; and his grandparents.
