Jane Reuter passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, December 14, 2006, at her home after a long battle with melanoma cancer. She was 61 years old.

Jane Reistad was born to Vernon and Ethel (Miller) Reistad on July 7, 1945 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith and spent her childhood days in southern Minnesota. Jane graduated from Morristown High School and following High School she attended Rochester Junior College. Jane married Roger Reuter on January 14, 1966. The couple lived in Hastings and Two Harbors, Minnesota before settling in Thief River Falls.

Jane enjoyed reading, sewing and quilting and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; her children: Kathryn Ann and husband Mark with children Jenna and Derek Steichen of Kansas City, Kansas, Timothy James and his wife Melani with children, Nicholas and Alexis Reuter of Thief River Falls, MN, and Kristin Lee and her husband Mike with children, Emily, Payton, and Kacy Schiltz of Detroit Lakes, MN; her parents, Vernon and Ethel Reistad of Morristown, Minnesota; one sister, Virginia (Wilmer) Schmidtke of Morristown, Minnesota; two brothers, Bruce (Pam) Reistad of Austin, Minnesota and Dale (Kathy) Reistad of Austin, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to First Care Hospice or Redeemer Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls.
