Janice Kezar, 64, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Thief River Care Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, July 2, 2007 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Mark Helgeland officating. Burial will be held at First Lutheran Cemetery in Middle River, MN.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the church.
Janice Fay Prosser was born March 10, 1943 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Archie and Kathryn (Sulland) Prosser. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Middle River, MN. She attended school in Middle River, graduating from Middle River High School in 1961. In 1964, Jan graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing at Grand Forks, ND.
On November 7, 1964, Jan was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, James Lee Kezar. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls, MN. Janice began her nursing career at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, working in Peds, ICU, Med Surgery and Recovery, for the past 40 years, retiring in 2003. She was an esteemed nurse who worked many years comforting people after surgery.
Jan was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, shopping, crocheting and antiques. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her two sons: Shannon (Laura) Kezar, Forest Lake, MN; and Paul (Jeanine) Kezar, Thief River Falls, MN; four grandchildren: Dan, Andrew, Macie and Josie; two sisters: Dorothy (Wayne) Westlund and Arlene (Duane) Loven all of Grand Forks, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband James on June 18, 2006 and parents.
