Jean Hapka, of Halma, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in Arizona.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Karlstad, MN, with Father George Noel presiding.  Interment will be held at St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery in Strandquist, MN.

Visitation will take place one half hour prior to Mass on Friday at the church.

Jean Rae Strand was born on April 28, 1952, the daughter of Silas and Dorothy (Kroshus) Strand of Ada, MN.

On June 12, 1976 Jean was united in marriage Leon Hapka at Alma Catholic Church, Argyle, MN. They made their home together on the farm near Argyle where they raised their three children – Jennifer, Laura, and Lance. Jean devoted her life to her husband and children, staying home and helping with the farm. She loved traveling with Leon and eventually found a winter home in Arizona. Jean was a master at trivia and holiday meals, cooking the most delicious dishes. In the summers she enjoyed being at the lake with family. Jean was also a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Jean is survived by her loving husband Leon; children, Jennifer (Garrett) Borowicz, Laura Hapka, and Lance (Katrina) Hapka; grandchildren, Emma, Abigail, and Breck Borowicz and Luke, Zoey, Mara, and Levi Hapka; sister, Debra Ruebke; and many relatives, and friends.
