Jeanette Hoffman, 85, died on Friday, January 6, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN, with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be on Monday, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jeanette Elizabeth Marquette was born November 15, 1920 at Fargo, ND, the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth (Remmenga) Marquette. She was baptized in 1923, at Sterling NB and confirmed at Glyndon, MN in 1934. She grew up in the Fargo-Moorhead area, then St. Hilaire, Thief River Falls and then Goodridge, MN. Jeanette attended high school in Thief River Falls.

On December 3, 1939, Jeanette was united in marriage to John Jacob Hoffman in a parsonage in Thief River Falls. Jeanette worked in the bees, with her dad and brothers for two years prior to and following their marriage. She worked several places in farm related work and went to Beaver Dam, WI and worked in a canning factory for one summer. She worked out for several years in the Lake Bronson, MN area for farmers, where she cooked and John worked as a farm laborer. The next winter they lived and worked on a farm at Warren and then Jeanette and John moved and worked in the Crookston area for a couple of years. The couple bought a farm near Goodridge, MN in 1946. She worked with her husband her whole life, helping in all aspects of farming.

Jeanette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, the Ladies Aid and also belonged to the Homemakers Group serving as president. She liked to paint, stitch, grow flowers, ride her 4-wheeler, do yard work, pottery and wouldnt let John mow the lawn, because it wasnt cut right. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Jeanette is survived by husband, John, Goodridge, MN; children, Roger (Mag Melgaard) Goodridge, MN, Rodney (Sylvia), Goodridge, MN and Cheryl (Brian) Kellogg, Peru, MA; 3 grandchildren, Kristin (Steve) Lamontagne, Rochester, NY, Alissa (fianc, Tim Hruby) Hoffman, Goodridge, MN and Lacey (Joe Hruby) Hoffman, Goodridge, MN; brothers, Richard (Vernie) Marquette, Lincoln NE, Fred (Melba) Marquette , Ft Myers, FL, Kenneth (Willie) Marquette, Las Cruces, NM, Spencer Marquette, Arcadia, FL and Frank (Annella) Marquette, Moorhead, MN; sister, Helen DeBord, Rock Falls, IL, Esther Johnshoy, Longmont, CO, Agnes Swanson, Rock Falls, IL and Frances (Mike) Johnshoy, Kalaheo, HI; sister-in-law, Gene Marquette, Daytona Beach, FL and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, brother, Roy M. and half-sister, Doris Flack.
