Jennings Anthony Jensen was born May 15, 1911, near Grygla, Minnesota, in Beltrami County, Benville Township to Anton and Tillie (Johnson) Jensen, and most of his early years were spent on the family farm.
In 1933 he gave his life to Christ purposing to serve the Lord in whatever way God wanted him. That remained the goal for which he strove throughout his life. His future wife, Verna Olson, also accepted Christ on the same day and together they planned a life based on those decisions.
He worked at various occupations which included farming with and for his parents, as well as on his own farm for a short time at Lake Park, MN; many years of being a mechanic in Goodridge, MN and Fargo, ND; working for Brodin Sheet Metal and Forsbergs, Inc. in Thief River Falls, MN (from which he retired at age 89); and, his favorite, moving buildings. He was responsible for moving the old Eighth Street bridge so the construction of the new bridge could take place.
When living in Minneapolis and Moorhead, MN he was involved with Rescue Mission work, and after returning to Thief River Falls, MN he spent Wednesday and Sunday afternoons visiting at the hospital and the various retirement homes.
He was indeed a servant worthy of his hire and will be remembered by family and friends alike who are thankful for his life.
He is survived by his sister Adele Krug, Virginia; daughters Naomi Jensen, CA; Claudia (Michael) Stoopes, Australia: Esther (Patrick) Watson, Guam; Gwen Rouleau, MN; and daughter-in-law Susan Jensen, Ohio; eleven grandchildren: Jennifer, Nathan (Mary Ann), Amy (Karl), Susan, Carol (Phil); Jill (Richard), Adam; Aaron, Holly; Jessica; Julie; and ten great grandchildren: Ella; Sydney, Cameron; Ethan, Eve; Frances; Nathan, Rheann, Devon; and Brandon.
Those preceding him in death include his wife Verna; his son Paul; and his granddaughter Tessa-Brooke.
