Jim Srnsky, Thief River Falls, MN, age 78 died on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Frank Ehling officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday. Jim "Jimmy" Frank Srnsky was born July 28, 1937 at Espelie Township, Marshall County MN, the son of Frank and Ida (Sordahl) Srnsky. He attended school in St. Hilaire, MN through the 8 grade. On August 11, 1956, Jimmy was united in marriage to Patricia Walker at Bertrum, MN. The couple lived in the Minneapolis area for 11 years, where he was employed as a foreign car mechanic. They then moved to St. Hilaire, MN and have resided here since. He was self-employed as a gravel hauler for the past 2 years for Wells Gravel, Inc. Jimmy enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling, family picnics and anything outdoors. He liked playing cards, country music and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed a good argument. Since he was a mechanic, he did all of his own mechanic work. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, Thief River Falls, MN; sons: Gary Srnsky, St. Hilaire, MN and Michael J. Srnsky, Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren: Scott Srnsky, Jamie (Jennifer) Srnsky, Patty Srnsky and Elizabeth Srnsky; great grandchildren: Caleb, Alex, Tanisha, Dylan, Kathryn and Ray; brothers and sisters: Richard (Alice) Srnsky, Zimmerman, MN, Jean Walker, Duluth, MN, Jack (Cheryl) Srnsky, St. Hialire, MN, Darlene (Vernon) Rooker, Grand Forks, ND and Sharon (John) Bugge, St. Hilaire, MN along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Jenny Marie Srnsky, parents, sister Clarice Rooker and brothers-in-law, Elmer Rooker and Al Walker.
