Joan Griffin, 71, died Monday, June 30, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 7, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Dennis Raymond officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN and at the church for one hour prior to services on Monday.

Joan Soiney was born May 9, 1932 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Johnson) Soiney. She was baptized on April 23, 1946 and confirmed on April 28, 1946 in Rindal Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls, MN. Joan attended Rosebank Country School in Norden Township and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, graduating in 1949.

On October 30, 1949 Joan was united in marriage to Eldon Larson at Rindal Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in the Thief River Falls area until 1960 when they moved to St. Hilaire. She enjoyed being a Homemaker. She married Robert Griffin in 1982. They traveled for Bobs work living in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Texas, Idaho, Washington, New Mexico and Scotland. He retired in 1986 and they returned to make their home in Thief River Falls. Bob died on February 13, 1994.

She enjoyed her flower gardens and loved spending time with her family.

Survived by children, Chuck (Carolyn) Larson , Bill (Denise) Larson and Danny (Marge) Larson, all of Thief River Falls, MN, Angela Griffin of Moorhead, MN and Grady Griffin of Thief River Falls, MN; three step children: Karen Griffin, Bob Griffin, Jr. and David Griffin; five step grandchildren; and ten step great grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Griffin and her parents.
