Joan Klipping 74, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at St. Joseph's Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bill DeCrans Officiating. Burial will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Joan Carol Gilbert was born February 22, 1942, the daughter of Chester and Selma (Rodlin) Gilbert in Norman County, MN.

On June 6, 1959 she married her soulmate, Harvey Klipping in Red Lake Falls, MN. They bought a farm east of Red Lake Falls where they spent many happy years together raising their six children.

Joan was the bookkeeper for Klipping Brothers Construction for many years after going to night school for accounting while still taking care of her family.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, painting pictures, reading, puzzles and embroidery. She took pleasure in making all her grandchildren blankets with their favorite colors or designs.

More than anything else, Joan loved her family. She enjoyed the holidays when everyone was together and there was a houseful of joyful noise.  Duke their dog, also had a special place in her heart.

Joan is survived by her husband Harvey Klipping, children Karen (William) Bierman of Brooks, MN., Cindy (Allen) Ducharme of Crookston, MN., Steve (Faye) Klipping of Red Lake Falls, MN., Teresa (Don) Conard of Thief River Falls, MN., Roy Klipping (fiancée Loreen Schultz) of Red Lake Falls, MN., Bob (Casey) Klipping of Red Lake Falls, MN. , one sister Maggie Bundt of Minneapolis, MN., seventeen grandchildren Tony, Ashley, Billy, Tina, Brenda, Kevin, Rachael, Jacob, Donny, Krystle, Brandie, Dylan, Justus, Blaze, Jaden, Paige, Kylie; and five great grandchildren Kiera, Kaleb, Jade, Stormy, Sophie, with one on the way; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Chester and Selma Gilbert, brother-in-law David Bundt, mother and father-in-law Mildred and Eldon Klipping, brother-in-law Henry Klipping, nephews Darin Klipping and Mark Klipping.
