Obituary

JoAnn Meyers, 73, died Monday, February 23, 2009.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Scott Pattison officiating. Burial will follow in the Landstad Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held 2-5 PM, Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with a Prayer Service at 3 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday.

JoAnn Marie Sevre was born February 16, 1936 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Gene and Signe (Myhrer) Sevre. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church and attended schools in Thief River Falls. JoAnn graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955.

She was united in marriage to Charles Meyers on August 5, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls. To this union two children were born, Jeffrey and Paula.

JoAnn worked for L.B. Hartz and also for the Thief River Falls Unified School District part-time. After her retirement she worked for Tri-County as a senior companion and sold Watkins products. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and belonged to the Garden Club. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and spending time with her many close friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 47 ½ years, Charlie of Thief River Falls; son, Jeffrey Meyers of East Grand Forks; daughter, Paula (her partner, Rosalind Lewis) Meyers of Riverside, CA; two grandchildren, James and Alyssa Lewis-Meyers; brothers, Roger (Pam) Sevre of Zimmerman, MN, Dale (Karol) Sevre of White Bear Lake, MN and Ronnie (Carol) of Blaine, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Signe Sevre; and brothers, Vernon, Richard and Duane Sevre.
