Johanna Desrocher, 53, Big Sky Montana, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at her home of natural causes. A Memorial Service honoring Johanna's life will be held 1:30 PM on October 16, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Family burial of cremated remains will be at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Johanna Desrocher was born on June 23, 1962 in Grand Rapids, MN, the daughter of William and Mary Ann (Frantesl) Desrocher. She grew to adulthood in Thief River Falls, MN. In 1980, Johanna graduated from Lincoln High School. While in school she had a talent for and excelled in swimming. Following high school Johanna attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls and achieved her elementary education degree at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, MN, graduating with honors. In 1987, Johanna moved to Big Sky, MT. She was currently employed by Resort Property Management at the River Rock Lodge, where she felt like family. Johanna will always be remembered for her Christmas cookies. She put a lot of time and love into her baking and was known to be a wonderful cook. She enjoyed traveling, especially to warmer destinations. She made many trips from Big Sky to Thief River Falls, so she could spend time with her family. She loved family gatherings at the cabin, going for walks through the woods with the dogs and sitting around the campfire. Johanna loved to spoil her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed making her own cards and being creative. Johanna enjoyed getting together with her family and friends. Johanna loved spoiling her little dog, Honey, who was her constant companion. They spent many hours going for walks around Big Sky. Johanna was a down to earth, no fuss kind of person. She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all that knew her. Johanna is survived by her father, Bill (Julie) Desrocher of Thief River Falls, MN; sisters, Georgi (Randy) Bruggeman of Thief River Falls, MN, Lisa Desrocher of Los Angeles, CA, Colette Desrocher of Thief River Falls, MN; brother, Bill (Lisa) Desrocher of Brainerd, MN; nieces and nephews: Cassandra Desrocher, Joshua Hulst, and Logan (Karolina) Hulst, Elisabeth, Bill, and Seth Desrocher; great nieces and great-nephew, Calissa, Adler, Birdie, and Amy Desrocher; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends from Montana. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Desrocher; nephew, Joseph Desrocher; and her grandparents.
