John Arneson, 71, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Service of the Word will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 16, 2003 at Johnson Funeral Home, Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home on Friday.

John Robert Arneson was born January 29, 1932 at Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Millard E. and Rosa D. (Forche) Arneson. He was baptized into the Catholic Faith on July 3, 1957 at Ada, MN. He entered the United States Army on July 24, 1952 and was honorably discharged on July 10, 1954.

On November 5, 1973, John was united in marriage to Marie Schmidt at Sisseton, SD. He worked for farmers in the area, also Future Fuels, Thief River Falls, MN, American Crystal Sugar, Crookston, MN, car wash attendant in Thief River Falls and caretaker of the Town View Estates I and II, Red Lake Falls, MN.

He held membership with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2793, Thief River Falls, MN. John liked to watch football, especially the Minnesota Vikings, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Marie.

Survived by wife, Marie, Red Lake Falls, MN and cousin, Mary Ellen Swenson, Halstad, MN.

Preceded in death by parents, Millard and Rosa.
