John C. Jorgensen, 83, of Red Lake Falls, MN died Sunday, June 03, 2007 at Twin Valley Living Center in Twin Valley, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Rev. Rick Hensel officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post of Red Lake Falls, MN.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral at church.
John Christian Jorgensen, Jr. was born July 4, 1923 in Hazel, MN the son of John and Emmy Dagmar (Hansen) Jorgensen. He attended school in Hazel.
He entered into service with the United States Navy in 1941 and served in San Diego, California.
He was united in marriage to Marietta Havlik on October 18, 1944 at First Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls, MN and the couple made their home in Thief River Falls, MN. To this union 5 daughters were born, Carolyn, Marlene, Lorna, Kristi and Lori.
John worked as an electrician in Thief River Falls, MN from 1949 until his retirement in 1989. His company was called Jorgensen Electric.
He was united in marriage to Margaret (Loffelmacher) Zutz on September 1, 1992 at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple has continued to live in Red Lake Falls, MN in the summers and in Mission, TX in the winters. While in Red Lake Falls they were members of St. John Lutheran Church.
John enjoyed farming, knitting, cross-stitching, crocheting and making beer. John and Margie especially enjoyed traveling. They took many trips throughout the country and they never went to the same place twice.
Survivors include his wife, Margie of Red Lake Falls, MN; 5 daughters, Carolyn (Roger) Seely of Sandstone, MN, Marlene (Burton) Prichard of Poquoson, VA, Lorna (Daniel) Arel of Dilworth, MN, Kristi (Kevin) Condon of West Fargo, ND, and Lori (Tom) Eichenberger of Anthem, AZ;3 step-children, Lou Ann (Willard) Weiss of Crookston, MN, Duane (Barb) Zutz of Forest Lake, Mn and Rodney (Darlene) Zutz of Red Lake Falls, MN; 10 grandchildren, Chad, Tanya, Paul, Philip, Alan, Michael, Rhianda, Jeffrey, Becky, and Ella; 12 step grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Joseph, Blake, Skylar, Marissa, Alexander, and Imogen; 20 step-great grandchildren; 5 brothers and sisters, Rosie Roisland, Myrtle Rieman, Raymond Jorgensen, Lillian Koop, and Freddie Jorgensen; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Earl, Willie, Kenneth, Celia Smolak, and Minnie Tollefson.
