John Glover Meyers was born January 3, 1928 at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada son of the late Frank James and Ruby Pearl (Glover) Meyers. He attended rural school near Prince Albert and at a young age started farming with his family of the home farm. John would farm in the summer and Log in the winter. He later moved out the Northwest Territory and worked on the oil field for 16 ½ years. John was injured in the oil field so he leased a café near the Alaskan pipeline for 4 years. He then moved to North Dakota and worked. On March 28, 1973 John was united in marriage to Lucy Miksatko at Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Red Lake Falls where he farmed and drove truck. He owned and operated Meyers Trucking. The couple moved to Thief River Falls then Goodridge and finally St. Hilaire where he operated a mechanic shop. John was a husband, a father, a grandpa, and a friend to many. When someone was in need he would help them at a drop of a hat. He always had a smile on his face and a joke in his words. Friends said he had lots of character and was a storyteller and he was the "best mechanic in the northwest". John was an entrepreneur, a "big rig" mechanic, trucker and farmer. He grew the biggest garden you ever saw. John was always tinkering and keeping busy and at the end just to keep busy he was raising chickens. John was a very independent man and a very generous man. His dog Chico was his constant companion who went everywhere with John.
