Much beloved husband, dad, brother, grandpa, and friend.

John Charles Reid II was born on September 14, 1933, to John and Helen Reid.

John was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Ann Sear (Pat) in Las Vegas, NV on September 28, 1962, and they made their home in Santa Anna, CA. In May of 1965 they moved to Grygla, MN and started farming. To this union three children were born.

John was a man of integrity and ethics, and this showed in everything he did and how he treated those he cared about.

He proudly served in the military and was honored his entire life to have been able to serve his country.  While in California, he was a big equipment operator and was instrumental in building many structures that are still there today.  He was a farmer for many years, and this brought him much happiness and appreciation of nature and the world around him.  He also spent many years working at Polaris and often would talk about his time there.  In everything he did, he worked hard and gave his all.

John loved his family, crosswords, puzzles, westerns, music, animals, flowers, birds and laughing.  He would help anyone that needed it and gave to many charities in the hopes of making the world a little better. John will be fondly remembered for his integrity, hardworking spirit, jokes, laugher, twinkling beautiful blue eyes, and extreme kindness.

John is survived by his three children, a son-in-law, grandchild, great-grandchild, brother, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, parents, and sister.

John has now joined the love of his life Pat and once again will be holding the hand of his beloved, that he has dearly missed for twelve years.

As John did not want anyone crying over him or being sad but wanted us to remember who he was and how he loved to joke and laugh, at his request, there will not be any visitation, funeral service, or memorial services.

In lieu of any cards or memorial to the family, John has asked to please give to your favorite charity in his memory.
