John Sherack, Thief River Falls, MN, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding.  Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, on Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.  The Knights of Columbus will lead a Rosary prior to the visitation, at 12:00 PM.

John Paul Sherack was born November 22, 1948 at Crookston, MN, the son of Frank and Marie (Kruse) Sherack.  The family resided in Crookston, Angus, and Warren, MN.  In 1958 after Frank passed away, the family moved to Thief River Falls, MN.  John attended Cook School, rural Warren, MN; Warren Elementary School; St. Bernard's School; Lincoln High School (Class of '66); Northland State Junior College ('66-'68); and Moorhead State College ('68-'70).

John's career as an accountant began with Nesland Accounting.  He also worked as an accountant for Winter & Associates, Onkka Accounting, and Brady Martz.

John was a MN Twins fan since 1961.  He was a die-hard Vikings fan.  His other interests included music, movies, and trivia.

John is survived by his siblings, Margaret (Gene) Ueland, Mary (Wally) Sjaaheim, Rose (Rich) Neitz, and Susan Sherack; sister-in-law, Jane Sherack; 39 nieces and nephews; and cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Sherack; brother, James Sherack; and his aunts, uncles, and several cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Bernard's School, Thief River Falls, MN.
