Obituary

Johnnie Joseph Miller, 59, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, November 26, 2009. He had been dealing with heart problems for quite some time.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Bert Foster officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Monday, November 30, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.

Johnnie Joseph Miller was born March 18, 1950 to Frank and Philamena (Schmaltz) Miller. He graduated from Drake High School in 1968. After graduation until late 1969 he worked on the oil rigs in Watford City, ND. After that he worked as a brakeman on the Soo Line Railroad until injured in 1989.

Johnnie was married to Kathleen McMahon on July 31, 1971 in Harvey, ND. To this union three children were born: Candice, Holly, and Crystal. On October 19, 1993 Johnnie was united in marriage to Audrey Gustafson. They have made their home in rural Thief River Falls. Johnnie enjoyed old cars, auction sales, collecting things, and going to second hand stores and thrift stores.

He will be missed so very much by his family and we are so thankful for the wonderful memories and things he has taught us. May he enjoy his new castle in heaven with our Lord.

He is survived by his wife Audrey, Thief River Falls, MN, 3 children: Candice Miller, Thief River Falls, Holly (Jason) Funk, Park Rapids, MN, Crystal (Jason) Cota, Bemidji, MN, 7 grandchildren: Katrina, Roy Joseph, Brody, Logan, Callie, Jaydin, and Emily, step son Lorrin (Fran) Leader, and their children Ariana, Peggy, Eric and Kendra of Newfolden, MN, brother Roy (Janet) Miller, Minot, ND, sisters Irene (Walter) Wolfe, Filmore, ND, Bernice Volk, Watford City, ND, Mabel (Myron) Cunnings, Greely, CO, Anna Volk, Rugby, ND, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, brother Christopher Miller, two brothers in law Peter and Paul Volk, mother in law Emma Gustafson.
