Jon Furuseth was born November 25, 1950, in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Leonard and Mildred (Hanson) Furuseth. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church and attended Knox Elementary School and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1968. Following High School Jon attended college in Bemidji and Moorhead. He enlisted in the United States Marines and served his country for three years. Following his Honorable Discharge Jon attended Welding School in Thief River Falls.

He was owner and operator of Trident Half Way House in Thief River Falls. His life work was to help people. Jon enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, and spending time with his friends at the Rusty Nail, VFW and Johnnies Caf in Thief River Falls. He loved his family and spending time with them and was lovingly called Grandpa 3 Toes by his grandchildren.
He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church, American Legion and VFW in Thief River Falls and he was also a member of AA.
Jon felt he wanted to give back to the community after he quit drinking, so he started Trident Halfway House to help people with addictions. Jon continued to run it until ill health forced him to sell out.
