Joseph Natvik, 72, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Friday, June 07, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with his loving family at his side.

A gathering time for family and friends to celebrate Joseph's life will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Joseph Alan Natvik was born September 24, 1946 in Holyoke, MA the son of Peter and Vera (Moat) Natvik. He attended school in Alabama and South Carolina. Following school, Joseph entered into service with the United States Marine Corps. He was in recon in Vietnam during the war and was Honorably Discharged.

On September 4, 1970, Joseph was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Kukowski in South Dakota. The couple built their home in Thief River Falls, MN and to this union two daughters, Beth and Kelly were born.

Joseph worked at various places in Thief River Falls including Forsbergs, manager of the Kat House, Arctic Cat and at Goodyear where he was very respected as a front end alignment specialist. After he was injured at Goodyear, Joseph became a stay at home dad and ran a hobby farm.

He enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar, art, bowling and socializing at the Viking Café and Amoco. Joseph served on the New Solum Township Board and enjoyed volunteering with various family related activities.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara; children, Beth (Ted) Bradshaw, Kelly (Michael) Taggart, Roy Natvik and Morgan (Don) Burns; grandchildren, Austin & Cole Taggart, Wyatt Bradshaw, Ryan Burns, Cameron Hogle, Ashley Acker; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Peter, Timothy, Kristi, Jeffrey; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; siblings, Thomas and Francis; brothers-in-law, Billy, Robert, Alban, Stephen & Marvin; sister-in-law, Victoria; and two nephews, Dale and Victor.
