Joseph Nelson, 62, died on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Joseph C. Nelson was born on December 7, 1946 in Greenbush, MN, the son of Obert and Laura (Linert) Nelson. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and attended school in Greenbush, graduating from Greenbush High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps.

Joseph was united in marriage to Gwen Olson on October 28, 1973. To this union a son, Robert, was born. Joseph worked at Polaris many years and also at Steenersons, hauling turkeys, and for the last few years he worked at Thygeson Construction in Thief River Falls.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and driving around the country.

Joseph is survived by one son, Robert, and special friend, Peggy Haupt of Grygla, MN; brother, George (Lila) Nelson of Badger, MN; special friend, Julie Olson of Thief River Falls, MN; nephews, Bruce, Brian and James Nelson; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; and two brothers, Robert and Leland.
