Josephine Erickson Plummer, MN, 93, died on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Troy Bates officiating. Burial will be held at Community Cemetery at St. Hilaire, MN. Visitation will be held December 4, 2014 at Thursday, 5 - 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also one hour prior to service at the funeral home on Friday. Josephine May Erickson was born December 31, 1921 at Guthrie Center, IA daughter of the late Gordon and Elsie (Harlan) Shelley. She was raised on the family farm near Dexter, IA where she attended rural school. On July 23, 1945 she was united in marriage to Arthur W. Erickson at St. Paul, MN. The couple made their home in St. Paul, MN, in 1947 they moved to Plummer where they farmed and raised their family. Arthur passed away July 21, 1994. She continued to live on the farm until moving into Oakland Park Community's on May 22, 2008. Josephine enjoyed listening to classical music, reading, gardening, visiting with family and friends, baking and spending time outdoors. She loved to sew and crochet. She is survived by her children; Jill Hall of Newfolden, MN, Jane (Carl) Smith of Fargo, ND, Art (Betty) Erickson of Thief River Falls, MN, Alan (Judy) Erickson of Erskine, MN, Annette (Dale) Johnson of Newfolden, MN, Cecily Erickson of Plummer, MN, and Josie (Randy) Myhre of Red Lake Falls, MN; 25 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; friend Milo Oppegaard of Erskine, MN many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, son Lloyd Erickson, daughter Phyllis Erickson grandson Kyle Myhre, son-in-law Harold Hall, siblings Elma McDonald, Eugene Shelley, Howard Shelley, Irene McConnell, Louise Clayton, Marie McCall, Harold Shelley, Maurice Shelley and Homer Shelley.
