Josie Klasen, 74, of Oklee, MN died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at her home in Oklee. Arrangements with the Petterson Funeral Home, Oklee, MN.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 2:00 PM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Gary LaMoine Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery at Oklee, MN.
Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Oklee and also one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Josephine Josie Elizabeth Klasen was born August 13, 1925 at Brooks, MN daughter of the late Octave and Leah (Lambert) Daoust. She was raised and attended school in the Brooks area. She was united in marriage to Andrew Klasen in May of 1945. The couple first lived in Oklee, then purchased a farm North of Oklee where they lived and farmed. They moved back into Oklee in 1972 and Andrew passed away in 1976. Josie has resided in Oklee since.
Josie enjoyed summer and winter fishing, playing cards, growing flowers and gardening. She very much enjoyed spending time with her family. This past Mothers Day was very special.
She is survived by her children Fred (Kathy) Klasen of Clearbrook, MN; John (Jane) Klasen of Oklee, MN; Daniel (Kathy) Klasen of Oklee, MN; Barb (Loren) Arveson of Warroad, MN; Betty (Ivan) Sjulstad of Roseau, MN; Henry (Terry) Klasen of Roseau, MN: grandchildren Chris (Marten) Rios, Kenny (Tanya) Delany, April Klasen, Paula Klasen, Randy Klasen, Pam (Jeff) Johnson, Lisa (John) Erlandson, Angie Klasen, Jessica Klasen, Tena Klasen, Melissa Arveson, Paul Arveson, Jennifer (Gary) Habiger and Mathew (Karna) Sjulstad: great-grandchildren Kayla, Brandy, Stephany, Seth, Ethan, Austin, Taylor, Jordan and Masson. One loving sister Leona (Celestine) Schnieder of Glenwood, MN: Very special friend Joe Willet of Oklee, MN.
Josie is preceded in death by her husband Andrew, parents Octave and Leah Daoust, brother Victor and sisters Theresa Pemberton, Lucille Swanson, and Irene McAndrews, one grandson Andrew.
