Joyce Reese 87, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Monday, at Essentia Hospital in Fosston, MN. Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 7:00 PM with Reverend John Golv Officiating at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will be held in the spring at Sundet Cemetery at Nielsville, MN. Joyce Beverly Reese was born May 30, 1926 at Gully Township, MN daughter of the late Hans and Ida (Ingvaldson) Nyland. Joyce was baptized July 25, 1926 and confirmed May 12, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944. She was once married to Bernard Reese to this marriage there were two children born Diane and Dennis. Joyce worked for Land-O-Lakes Turkey plant and later for Piggly Wiggly which was later Hugo's and eventually retiring from there. She enjoyed caring for pets and animals, attending rummage sales and later traveling to the Casino's. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her family especially the grandchildren. Joyce was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She is survived by her two children Diane Baune of Thief River Falls, MN and Dennis Reese of Thief River Falls, MN. Grandchildren Paul (Susan) Helgeland of Frazeysburg, OH; Chad Helgeland of Roseau, MN; Kelley Baune of Plummer, MN: great-grandchildren Chris Appicelli of Denton, TX, Elizabeth (Jake) Coad of Sarasota, FL, Alicia (Devin) Maggio of Sarasota, FL, Paul James "PJ" Helgeland of Sarasota, FL, Grant Helgeland of Roseau, MN, Gavin Helgeland of Roseau, MN and Jayden Iverson of Plummer, MN: two great-great-grandchildren Taylor Coad and Amelia Coad both of Sarasota, FL: several nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Roger Nyland, Harvey Nyland and Gladys Harder; Grandson Keith Baune along with several nieces and nephews.
