Judith Hagenbeck, 88, of Newfolden, MN died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Meritcare South University Campus Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Judith Marie Bakke was born November 18, 1918 at Newfolden, MN, the daughter of John O. and Mathea (Boe) Bakke. She attended Newfolden High School, graduating in 1936.

On September 6, 1941, Judith was united in marriage to Alfred Hagenbeck in Newfolden, MN. The couple purchased a farm near Newfolden. They moved into Newfolden in the mid 1940s, where she raised her family and resided all of her life. Judith also worked in potato fields and also worked as cook and manager at a restaurant.

She was a member of Assembly of God Church, Thief River Falls, MN and for the last 10 years attended the Evangelical Free Church, Newfolden, MN. She taught Sunday School and was very active in church ministry. Judith also served as a listener in Awana the past 3 years, belonged to several Bible study groups. She liked to quilt, crochet, embroidery, bake, especially Norwegian specialties and make lefsa. Most of all, spending time with family was very important to Judith.

Judith is survived by children: Wendell (Sandy) Hagenbeck, Sturgeon Lake, MN, Ardith (Roger) Volk, Eagan, MN, Reverend Verne (Lynette) Hagenbeck, Waukesha, WI, Lyle (Jean) Hagenbeck, Moorhead, MN, Rodney (Linsay) Hagenbeck, Moorhead, MN, Virginia (Tim) Kiviaho, Newfolden, MN and Marilyn (Gary) Donarski, Newfolden, MN; 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; cousin, Delores Hoffman, Dilworth, MN and sister-in-law, Grace (Larry) Hallblade, Brainerd, MN, along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, Alfred on February 21, 2003, parents, 2 brothers, Sigvald and Olger Bakke and a sister Lillian.
