Judith Olson, 68, of Red Lake Falls, MN, died on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN, with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake Falls. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service, Red Lake Falls, MN, and also for one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the church. Judith Jane Plante was born on March 29, 1945 at her family home in Brooks, MN, the daughter of Frank Sr. and Myrtle (Charboneau) Plante. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Judy grew up in the Brooks and Oklee area and attended school in Oklee. In 1967 Judy was united in marriage to Stephen Olson in Red Lake Falls. They made their home and raised their children in Red Lake Falls. In 1976 Stephen passed away and Judy continued to make her home there. Later she met her long-time companion Alvin Langseth who she shared her life with as one until the time of her death. Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren who were her heart and soul. Judy's favorite pastimes included quilting, canning, and talking to family and friends on the phone. Judy is survived by her companion, Alvin Langseth of Red Lake Falls, MN; children, Troy (Cari) Olson of Roseau, MN, Allan "Jeff" (Leah) Olson of Morganfield, KY, Stacy (Shane Retzlaff) of Hutchinson, MN, and Dan (Teresa) Olson of Bagley, MN; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Trent Askelson) Olson, Mercedes Kim, Alyssa Olson, Lucas Olson, Steele Kim, Marissa Olson, Gunnar Olson, and Blade Retzlaff; great-grandchildren, Brady Olson and Addison Olson; sisters, Sarah (Richard) Hanson of Clearbrook, MN, Linda "Carol" Rodriguez of Fort Worth, TX, and Lois Plante of Winger, MN; brother, Robert Plante of Crookston, MN; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; parents, Frank Sr. and Myrtle Plante; brothers, Johnny Plante, Ernest Plante, Frank Plante Jr., infant brother, John; sisters, Eunice Qualley, and infant sister, Verna.
