Judith Wold of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away peacefully at Valley Home Assisted Living on Friday, September 18, 2015, at the age of 97. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Rev. Kevin Meyer and Rev. Wes Langaas officiating. The funeral service will be followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with a 7:30 PM Prayer Service on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday. Judith Bernice Wold was born to Ingvold and Alma (Bredeson) Wold on March 28, 1918 in Agder Towship, Marshall County. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith by her grandfather, the Reverend August Bredeson. She was confirmed by Reverend Tungseth. Judith attended rural school in Sunnyside District #121. She attended high school in Thief River Falls, graduating in 1935. After graduating from teachers' training in Thief River Falls, she taught a number of years in rural schools. As she did this she continued her education and graduated from the Bemidji State Teachers College. Her last teaching years were teaching fourth grade in the new Washington School in Thief River Falls. Judith was a member of the Satersdal Congregation and later of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She served as Sunday School superintendent for many years. During the summer vacations she frequently directed and taught Vacation Bible School. Later she became very involved at Lake Geveva Bible Camp near Alexandria, MN, and Galilee Bible Camp at Lake Bronson, MN. Judith enjoyed being a member of her church choir and the work of the Women's Missionary Federation. She later sang in the Heritage choir. In 1969 Judith accepted the position of Executive Secretary for Parish Education and Women's Missionary Federation of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations. She retired in 1987. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lenore Wold and 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Benhard, Irving, and Reuben; sisters, Myrtle, Gladys, Alice, and Bernice. Memorials suggested to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Blessed be her memory.
