Julia Jay Philion, 90 of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday November 11, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 15, 1999 at 2:00 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father John Kleinwachter Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 Prayer service with Father Dennis Weiland Officiating at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Julia Elizabeth Dentz was born April 27, 1909 in Mahnomen, MN daughter of Robert and Ellen Jane (Leith) Dentz. She was raised there and attended rural school. She was baptized on May 23, 1909 in Mahnomen. She was married to Archie McDougall in Mahnomen. He passed away. In June of 1938 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Philion in Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple lived in Red Lake Falls where she worked for a few years at St. Johns Hospital. Lawrence passed away February 16, 1980. Julia lived at Sunset Court in Red Lake Falls before entering the Hillcrest Nursing Home in September 22, 1996. Since April of 1999 she has resided at the Convalescent Nursing Home in Thief River Falls. Julia enjoyed cooking and baking, crocheting, knitting. She enjoyed decorating for weddings, working with wild flowers and was an artist and loved drawing.
Julia was an active member of the Garden Club, Royal Neighbors, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, the Catholic Daughters, St. Joseph Guild and the Catholic Foresters.
She is survived by her daughter Dorie Ann(Joseph) Souto of Thief River Falls, MN; sons Clinton McDougall of Henderson, NV; Marlin (Pat) McDougall of Castro Valley, CA and Conrad (Barbara) McDougall of Fridley, MN. 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, son Jerry in 1972 and brothers Robert Dentz, Albert Dentz, Herbert Dentz, Levi Dentz, Lawrence Dentz, Infant Guy Dentz, Richard Dentz and Ernest Dentz.
