Obituary

Julia Stenseth, 99, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, Thief River Falls, MN.

Julia Caroline Sanders was born on June 26, 1905 in Cloverleaf Township, Pennington County, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Sigrid (Moltzer) Sanders. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Germantown and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Mavie. She attended Ptacek School in Clover Leaf Township, thru the 8th grade.

Julia was united in marriage to Charles H. Fuller and to this union four children were born, Clarence, Hazel, June and Darlene. Charles died in 1952. On July 17, 1953 she was married to Arthur Stenseth in Red Lake County. The couple has made their home in Thief River Falls their entire lives. Julia and Arthur spent 45 years together, before Arthurs death in 1998.

Julia worked for Land O Lakes for 14 years, retiring in 1959. Before that she worked for Zephyr Cleaners, in Thief River Falls.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.

Julia enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Julia is survived by two children: Hazel (Kenneth) Cartier of Mesa, AZ and Darlene Dollie Newland of Thief River Falls, MN; 28 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; 36 great-great grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; son, Clarence Fuller, daughter, June Brandt; three grandchildren: Wynette, Thane and Gregory; three brothers: Emil Sanders, Clarence Sanders and Leonard Sanders; and one sister, Helen Gribstein.
