Julie Helgeson, 65, died peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, March 19, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Middle River, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Memorial Service on Friday at the church.

Julie Ann Helgeson was born July 23, 1944 in Milaca, MN the daughter of Grant and Fern (Benson) Helgeson. She attended schools in Milaca and Hankinson, ND where she graduated in 1962. Julie graduated from Valley City State University in 1968 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. After college Julie accepted her first teaching position and moved to Middle River, MN where she taught Physical Education and English Classes until 1991.

In 1992, Julie moved to North Carolina where she worked in the marketing field. After several years in North Carolina, she moved back to the Middle River area where she resided until her death.

Julie enjoyed collecting angels, reading, rubber stamping, animals, and visiting with her family, friends and former students.

Survivors include Julies brother, Blayne (Carol) Helgeson of Breckenridge, MN; Niece, Sheila Helgeson of Detroit Lakes, MN; nephew, Thomas (Callie-ann) Helgeson of West Salem, WI; great-nieces and nephews, Makenna, Kevin and Matthew and several friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Simon Alexander.
