June Adelle Holmstrom, 89, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Pastors John Golv and Ale Tulu officiating.

Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

June Morberg was born June 14, 1929 to Emil and Mollie Morberg.  She grew up in Oslo, Minnesota and attended Big Woods Lutheran Church and Marshall County Schools.  She was very proud of her Scandinavian heritage and her Big Woods community.

June was united in marriage to Donald Dickman and to this union, Duane and Mollie were born.  June later married Eugene Prestegaard, and to this union, five children were born: Laura, Valerie, Stuart, Juanita, and Dean.

June held a variety of positions throughout her career including secretary, working at Arctic Cat, teacher, telephone operator for Northwestern Bell, and LPN for Inter-County nursing where she truly loved caring for elderly people as a home health care professional.  She was also a very talented, creative and artistic person who monogrammed clothing items for local sports teams, colleges, and businesses, and decorated wedding and other cakes for many years.  She also enjoyed baking, knitting, embroidery, and quilting.

She was a long time member of both Trinity Lutheran and Zion Lutheran churches in Thief River Falls.  She was also a proud member and Past President of the Eagles Auxiliary, and a member of the Sons of Norway.

June is survived by five of her children, Mollie (Dan) Brown, Laura (Gary) Paddock, Valerie (Craig) Zahara, Juanita Prestegaard, and Dean Prestegaard;  nine grandchildren, Jayme (Dickman) Kullman, Mara (Paddock) Kohls, Jessica (Zahara) Vogel, Trisha (Zahara) Beacom, Levi Zahara, Austin Zahara, Kaleb Zahara, Amanda Nelson, and Natalie Prestegaard; seventeen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her three siblings, Marshall (Madeline) Morberg, Evelyn (William) Engstrom, and Iva (Arnold) Lamberson, and two sons, Duane Dickman and Stuart Prestegaard.
