June Thrane Thief River Falls, MN, age 85, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at her residence in Thief River Falls, MN. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Voelker officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. June Jane Fredrickson was born on June 6, 1929 on the family farm in Lincoln Township, rural Strandquist, MN the daughter of Clarence Gayhard and Bertha (Nelson) Fredrickson. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Strandquist. June attended country school in Lincoln Township and high school in Strandquist. On December 14, 1947, June was united in marriage to Gordon Thrane in Pinewood, MN. To this union three children were born, Michael, Judy and Tammy. They farmed for five years in the Greenbush-Strandquist area, and then moved to Thief River Falls, where they continued to reside. She was lovingly called "Junebird" by many of her family and friends. June worked for thirty years at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls as a Nurse's Aide retiring in October of 1989. June was a caregiving woman who enjoyed taking people shopping, to the clinic or simply helping with any needs of her friends or family. She and Gordon enjoyed camping, dancing together and traveling to Esterville, IA for Gordon's army reunion. June loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandson, Brennen who came into her life at the same time Gordon passed away. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, VFW Post 2793 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 117 Auxiliary, Eagle's Club, and the Red Hat Society all in Thief River Falls. Survivors include her loving daughters, Judy (Steven) Lappegaard and Tammy (Wade) Johnson all of Thief River Falls, MN; four grandchildren, Jackie (Eric) Pagel of Minnetonka, MN, Jeffrey (Wendy) Thrane of Front Royal, VA, Corey Johnson and Codey Johnson both of Thief River Falls, MN; seven great-grandchildren, Austin Thrane, Ariel Barry, Ethan, Khloe and Ryder Pagel, Brennen and Paige Johnson; brother-in-law, Charles Thrane; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by husband, Gordon on February 3, 2006; son, Michael on September 30, 1970; granddaughters, Gina Anderson on October 14, 2009 and Jill Lappegaard on December 7, 2008; her parents; sisters, Doris (Johnny) Streed and Elsie (Ted) Jorde; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Thrane and Frances (LaVerne) Dagen; and her very special friend, Ella Englund.
