Karyl Diane Kveton, 71, of Goodridge, MN, gained her angel wings while holding her sister's hand on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11 AM Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN.

On September 2, 1953, Karyl was born to Harry and Mabel (Olson) Paulson in Thief River Falls, MN.  She grew up on the family farm in rural Goodridge, MN, near Highlanding. As a youth, Karyl could be found relaxing, enjoying her favorite book reading for hours when she should have been cleaning, helping with chores, or taking care of her younger siblings.   The family joke was that Karyl was never bothered by cleaning. As a matter of fact, she could watch someone else do it all day! But it was one of the things that made her special to all of us!

Karyl attended school in Goodridge and furthered her education in Staples, and Thief River Falls, MN.  Karyl married John (Jack) Kveton in 1973. This union was blessed with two children, James David and Janelle Diane. Following her divorce from Jack, Karyl and her children moved to Goodridge in 1981.

Karyl was a strong, dedicated and hard worker. She worked at Kmart in Thief River Falls, MN and later was employed at Arctic Cat until retirement in 2019. Her true passion in life was helping others, reading, gardening, baking and spending time with family and friends.  Whether it was baking or cooking, she always made enough to feed an army, and always made more than she needed.  Karyl was blessed with the honor of being a Grandma and Great Grandma.  This is a role she truly cherished.

Karyl enjoyed gardening, reading, pampering her dog Bella and being involved in many church activities. She was known for always being early and making sure the coffee was ready for events at the church. She made lifelong friendships with her church family and will forever be grateful for them.

Karyl is survived by her children: James (LeAnn) Kveton, Aldrich, MN and Janelle Crabtree, Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren: James (Brianna) Kveton, Samantha Kveton, Jarret (Alyssa) Kveton, Grace Kveton, Ian Crabtree, and Korah Crabtree; great-grandchildren: Declan and Jonah Kveton; siblings: Gene (Sue) Paulson, David (Diane) Paulson, Steve (Mavis) Paulson, Joann (Gary) Lundeen, and sister-in-law: Bridget Paulson; special friends Joanne and Clayton Stigen and her beloved dog Bella.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Mabel; sister, Lynette Zupetz; brother, Robert "Gunder" Paulson; two infant sisters, brother-in-law, John Zupetz.
