Katherine Hagman, 82, died on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Dan Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at the Johnson Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
Katherine Margaret Appelman was born on July 22, 1920 in Highlanding, MN to Martinius and Anna (Rempt) Appelman. She grew up and attended school in Highlanding, MN. She was married to George Gunderson in 1940. On February 19, 1947 she was united in marriage to Emil Hagman at the Methodist Church in Thief River Falls. Besides raising her family, Katherine worked gardening and selling vegetables in the area. She also was employed at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls for a number of years.
Katherine enjoyed raising a garden and flowers, especially her gladiolas. Card playing was a forte of Katherines and her game of choice was whist. She also enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife and her dog King. In her younger years she also took pleasure in snowmobiling.
Katherine belonged to a Flower Club, and the Snowmobile Club.
Katherine is survived by seven children: Hazel (Donald) Erickson, Inver Grove Heights, MN; Violet (Gary) Engstrom, Thief River Falls, MN; Larry (Grace) Hagman, Thief River Falls, MN; Rosie (Curt) Westlin, Thief River Falls, MN; Roger (Nancy) Hagman, Bemidji, MN; Duane (Theresa) Hagman, Thief River Falls, MN; Ken (Lesa) Hagman, Thief River Falls, MN; 21 grandchildren: Brian, Julie, Vince, Veronica, Gary Jr., Steve, Apryl, Jennifer, Kent, Tammy, Tina, Amy, Jeremy, Tiffany, Duane Jr., Chris, Daniel, Cassie, Roxanna, Ken Jr., Blade, 17 great grandchildren: Michael, Jacqueline, Jordan, Dakota, David, Jeremiah, Josiah, Joelle, Joshua, Madelyn, Amber, Demerick, Devonte, Malique, Elexis, Lydia, Duane III, Alec, one sister in law: Beulah Appelman, Catlin, Ill; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband Emil in 1978, three brothers: Cornelius, Raymond, and an infant brother, two sisters: Grace Rademacher, and Helen Sweep.
