Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN

Katherine "Kathy" Midbo, 67 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with her loving family at her side.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Mentor, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Katherine "Kathy" Louise Hoeft was born on April 10, 1951 in Crookston, MN to Charles and Muriel (Hallas) Hoeft.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mentor, MN.  Kathy grew up in Erskine, MN and graduated from Erskine High School with the class of 1969. As a teenager, Kathy worked at the Ness Café in Erskine.

In 1970, Kathy moved to Thief River Falls where she worked as a Dietary Aide at Northwest Medical Center for the next 30 years.  In the early 2000's Kathy went to work in Custodial at Digi-Key where she enjoyed her job right up until the time of her death.

In 1973 Kathy was blessed with a son, Jason whom she proudly raised as a single working mother.

On November 4, 1995, Kathy was united in marriage to Dallas Midbo at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls and the couple continued to reside in Thief River Falls.

Most important to Kathy are family gatherings, spending time with her son Jason and making memories with her husband Dallas.  She loved having fun, visiting, drinking lime vodka, playing bingo with her family and friends and games at holidays, especially Christmas.

In her younger years, Kathy took pride in riding her bicycle with her family and friends wherever she needed to go whether it be Warren, MN or St. Hilaire, MN.

Survivors include her beloved husband Dallas Midbo; son Jason Hoeft; 6 siblings Patricia (Vernon) Anenson, Marilyn (Leonard) Novak, Dorothy (Mike) Seidel, John Hoeft, Paul Hoeft, and Thomas (Jan) Hoeft; step-children, Terri Midbo, Darla Midbo, Paulette Clark and Kevin Midbo; sisters-in-law Diane Hoeft and Judi Hoeft; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Leah; 5 brothers Charles Hoeft, Russell Hoeft, Michael Hoeft, Douglas Hoeft and Jerry Hoeft; and special great nephew Michael.
