Kathleen Amiot, 85, Red Lake Falls, MN, passed away on Friday March 16, 2018 at Riverview Hospital, Crookston MN peacefully with her loving family at her side.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bob Schreiner Officiating and John Bruggeman Deacon. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Kathleen Dufault was born August 22, 1932 at Crookston, MN daughter of Daniel and Alice (Regimbal) Dufault. She was Baptized and Confirmed at St. Peter Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN. She grew up near Gentilly where she attended country school. Kathleen graduated from Mount Saint Benedict High School 1950.

On June 2, 1951 she was united in marriage to Donald Amiot at St. Peter Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN. They took over the family farm where she worked alongside her husband. They retired in 2000 and moved into Red Lake Falls, handing the farming operation over to their son Kevin.  She also worked at the Red Lake Falls Elementary and High School Libraries and the Red Lake Falls Public Library.

Kathleen was a very kind and caring person. She will always be remembered for her heartwarming smile. She enjoyed music, reading, theater, concerts, traveling, camping and cooking. She was the happiest singing and spending time with family. She was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, including serving on the church council and singing with the choir for 6o years.

She is survived by children Deb (Rick) Schue of Fargo, ND; Curt (Mary) Amiot of Rochester, MN; Ramona (Gary) Thibert of Red Lake Falls, MN and Kevin (Deb) Amiot of Red Lake Fall, MN: son-in-law Val Buchmeier Woodbury, MN; grandchildren Heidi (Brian) Veith, Justin (Shonna) Buchmeier, Kyle (Paige) Buchmeier, Eric (Lindsay) Buchmeier, Rachel Buchmeier, Alisyn Buchmeier, Jeremy (Jenny) Schue, Tami Garberg, Randy Schue, Michelle (Chris) Sullivan, Pat (Tara) Amiot, Brian Amiot, Bridget (Andy) Schindhelm, Mathew (Cierra) Thibert, Alyssa (Brian) Nelson, Derek Thibert, Kadie Amiot, Ryan Amiot and Bella Amiot: great-grandchildren Haydn, Cole, Colin, Emma, Avery, Adalyn, Logan, Conner, Sienna, Kenna, Quinn, Kathie, Maggie, Molly, Natalie and Nick; siblings Pauline (Louie) Roy of Minneapolis, MN, Rosemary (Gerald) Livdahl of Lake Park, MN, Harriet Underdahl of Moorhead, MN; sisters-in-law Lucille Dufault of Fosston, MN and Jeanne Dufault of Minneapolis, MN; brothers-in-law Merle Adams of Frazee, MN and Peter Anderson of Fisher, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, daughter Bonni Buchmeier; siblings Donald Dufault, Lloyd Dufault, Bernadette Adams and Yvonne Anderson; brother-in-law Arnie Underdahl.
