Keith Peters, 33, died on Friday, December 8, 2006 at his home in Oklee, MN.


Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 15, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson officiating. Burial will be in the Viking Cemetery, Viking, MN.

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer service on Thursday evening at the church and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Keith John Peters was born on March 13, 1973 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Maynard and Shirley (Howard) Peters. He was baptized at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire, MN and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN. He attended school in St. Hilaire, Thief River Falls and graduated from Oklee High School in Oklee, MN. Following graduation Keith enlisted in the United States Army at Fort Jackson. He received his Basic Training in South Carolina and was stationed in Germany. Keith was Honorably Discharged in 1993. He returned to Oklee and worked at Arctic Cat. In 1995 he moved to Thief River Falls and met and married Darlene on September 19, 1998 in Oklee, MN. They made their home in Oklee, MN and to this union the pride of his life was born, Bree Anne.

He worked at Hugos in Thief River Falls for several years and was currently working at Erskine Manufacturing in Erskine. Keith loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, golfing, frisbee-golf, and demolition derbys.

Keith was a fun loving person, always out for a good laugh and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a very devoted husband and father.

Keith was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Oklee, MN and the Army National Guard.

Keith is survived by his step children, Sylvia and Michael of Oklee, MN; his parents, Maynard and Shirley Peters of Thief River Falls, MN; one brother, Orville (Carol) Peters of Buffalo, MN; two sisters: Mindy (Nathan) Bukowski of Middle River, MN and Wanda (Gary) Wright of Oklee, MN; his grandmother, Lenelle Peters of Thief River Falls, MN; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
