Kelly Jean-Comstock Bren, 35, passed away on October 7, 2022, surrounded by her family at her parent's residence in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 5 to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM and one hour before the service at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel, Thief River Falls, MN.

Burial will follow the service on Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

On March 2, 1987, Kelly was born to Scott and Sandra (Comstock) Johnson in Thief River Falls, MN.  She attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 2005.  She was blessed with a son, Johnathon Brandis Haverkamp, in 2006.  In July 2014, Kelly began dating Jonah Bren, and they married on February 8, 2020.

Kelly worked at the Lantern Restaurant, Walmart, and Arctic Cat as an assembler in the snowline area.  In 2017, while working at Arctic Cat, Kelly was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma Cancer.  She was in remission until 2019, she was re-diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma while working at DigiKey.  Kelly made the best of her circumstances, and her family and friends were a tremendous help to her spirit and care.

Kelly was witty and fun to be with, always making others laugh and comfortable.  Drawing and coloring mythical characters were her creative talent.  She loved doing hair and makeup with her friends and nieces and was entertaining to others.  Kelly enjoyed music, and lately, she began learning to play guitar.  Her pets were meaningful to her bringing her great joy.  Her family was very close to her, and most important to her was Kelly's son, Johnny.

Kelly is survived by her husband, Jonah; son, Johnny; parents: Scott and Sandra Johnson and in-Laws, Judy Thompson and Joel (special friend- Jackie Hamre) Bren; siblings: Jeremy (Beth) Comstock, Nickcole (Richard) Wockenfuss, and Lisa (special friend- Mark Yager) Comstock, Stacy (special friend Brandon Danielson) Comstock, and Michael (special friend-Lacey Bren) Comstock, special family friend, Kamen Williamson, Jeremy Hanson and Alissa and Aaron Halvorson; 9 nieces and nephews; grandmother, Sharon Johnson (Fiance'-Bill Tibbits); several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; ; her pet cat, Hetti, and dog Morty.

She is preceded by her father-in-law: Scott Thompson; grandparents- Howard and Delpha Comstock and Lyle Johnson, Raymond and Clarice Bren, and Leopold and Natalie Nellessen; great-grandmother Olga Johnson, and Ted and Margaret Hegtvedt, uncle Dale Comstock, aunt Lorae Johnson; cousin Amy Rux and many great aunts and uncles; her dogs- Jake and Backfire.

Kelly Jean-Comstock Bren was 35 years, 7 months and 5 days old.
