Kelly Scott Kilen, 43, died on Monday, January 23, 2006 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Kelly Scott Kilen was born on December 18, 1962 in Hibbing, MN, the son of Don M. and Shirley Ann (Maras) Kilen. He was baptized in Hibbing and attended Elementary and High School in Hibbing and finished his GED in the National Guard. He entered the National Guard in 1980 and was Honorably Discharged after 12 years of service.

Kelly was united in marriage on October 12, 1984 to Denise Renne Trenberth in Hibbing, MN. He worked at Bill Ward Sheet Metal, Mesaba Sheet Metal in Hibbing and was a welder by trade. He also worked for American Linen in Hibbing. He moved to Thief River Falls in January of 1996 and began working at Arctic Cat.

He had a great sense of humor, was a hard worker and had simple expectations. Kelly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and his best friend, Dale. Fishing was great and according to Kelly, catching a fish was just a fringe benefit. Kelly was very passionate about what he believed.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Denise of Thief River Falls, MN; two sons: Jordan (Miranda Zutz) Kilen of Thief River Falls and Joe (Ashley Halbasch) Kilen of Thief River Falls, MN; his dad, Donnie Kilen of Middle River, MN; two brothers: Don (Cindy) Kilen of Middle River, MN and Kevin (Bev) Kilen of Middle River, MN; two sisters: Kim (Richard) Zbacnik of Chisholm, MN and Sherry (David) Torgerson of Hibbing, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley; one brother, Billy Kilen; and one granddaughter, Destiny Kilen.
