Kenneth Halldin was born December 27, 1916, at Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Otto and Ruth (Olein) Halldin. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at Zion Lutheran Church. He grew up and attended Northrup Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1934. He then attended Dunwoody School in Minneapolis, MN, where he took up drafting and in the summers planted trees for the State of Minnesota.
On October 4, 1941, Kenneth was united in marriage to Beth McLeod in St. Paul, MN. In December of 1942, Kenneth enlisted and served in the United States Army for 3 years, during World War II. He worked for the Soo Line Railroad for a short time prior to his enlistment. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to work for the Soo Line, retiring on June 6, 1977.
Kenneth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN and also was involved in the Masons, Shriners and Kiwanis. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, especially spending time at the hunting shack by Fourtown and for 15 years he wintered in Arizona following his retirement.
Survived by daughter, Patricia Nelson, Thief River Falls, MN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
Preceded in death by wife, Beth; son, Stuart and sister, Ione Ready.
