Kenneth Martin 60 of Thief River Falls, MN died on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his residence in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Kenneth Pius Martin was born on May 19, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT the son of Adam and Judith (Dahse) Martin. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith June 6, 1955 at Sacred Heart. He attended schools in Bismarck and Grand Forks, ND; and also attended college.

Ken entered into service with the United States Air Force and served his country until being Honorably Discharged.

In 1986, Ken met Carol Stromgren in Grand Forks, ND and to this relationship three children were born, Lisa, Amanda and Travis. They made their home in Grand Forks until 1993 when they moved to Thief River Falls, MN where Ken has continued to reside.

In his early years, Ken did farm work, worked in potato warehouses and on a horse ranch, was an assistant veterinarian, and most recently worked salvage and volunteered at the area food shelf.

Ken enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time with his children and grandchildren, going to the casino, and doing puzzle books, joke around and have fun with family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Lisa Stromgren of Red Lake Falls, MN, Amanda Stromgren of Thief River Falls, MN and Travis Stromgren of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Savannah, Elizabeth, Cali, Breanna and Luke; siblings, Kathy, Kim, Kelly, Kevin, and Keith; half-brother, John; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
