Kenneth Shaw, Thief River Falls, MN, 94, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Greenleaf Assisted Living, Thief River Falls, MN

Memorial service will be on Thursday, 2:00 PM January 10, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Matt Howe Officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the funeral home.

Kenneth Neil Shaw was born December 25, 1924 in Hannah, ND, the son of Neil and Dorothy (Albinson) Shaw.  He attended Hannah High School, Mayville Teachers College and the University of North Dakota.  He served his country with the United States Naval Service, entering July 23, 1943 and was honorable discharged on March 31, 1946.

On July 22, 1953, Kenneth was united in marriage to JoAnne Lawson at Hannah, North Dakota.

Kenneth taught school at Greenbush, MN, Little Fork, MN, San Manuel, AZ and Thief River Falls for 47 years.

He enjoyed reading.  He was a member of the American Legion, Masons, Royal Arch, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Eastern Star.

Kenneth is survived by a daughter Deborah (Richard) Shiflett; a grandson Bryce; 2 great grandchildren: April and Hayden; brothers Donald (Phyllis) Shaw and Glen Shaw along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife Joanne, his parents Neil and Dorothy; and grandparents William and Anne Albinson.

Memorials preferred to the Deeded Body Program at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
