Kent Michael Hamre, 53, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Sanford Hospital, Thief River Falls, MN.

On January 2, 1970, Kent was born to Leighton and Marilyn (Salvhus) Hamre in Thief River Falls, MN. He attended school in Thief River Falls, MN. Over the years, Kent had many jobs but was employed by Textron, and carpentry worked for the longest time. Kent developed many close friends over the years.

Kent enjoyed hockey, outdoors, construction, spending time with grandchildren, and working on cars. Kent was always willing to help others in need.

Survivors include three children: Alexie Burkholder, Kylie Stepp, and Leighton Wellentin; grandchildren: Nevaeha Burkholder, Landyn Hightower, Dalton Hightower, and a baby in December 2023; siblings: Lee (Kim) Hamre and Lori (Nick) Rierson; cousins, nephews, and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Leighton and Marilyn (Salvhus) Hamre; grandson, Keegan Lee Greene; and brother, Kevin Hamre.
