Kent Laidley, Newfolden, MN, age 43, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN, with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethlehem of New Solum Cemetery, rural Newfolden, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the church.

Kent Robert Laidley, the son of Duane and Frances (Carlson) Laidley was born on June 10, 1974 in Thief River Falls, MN.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  Kent attended and graduated from Marshall County Central High School in Newfolden.

Following high school Kent worked for Northern Pride in Thief River Falls.  In December of 1994 he started working as a welder at Arctic Cat.  Kent took pride in his work and worked there for 23 years.  Kent also worked with his family on the farmstead.

Kent enjoyed deer hunting and telling the stories.  He and his brother, Kevin enjoyed competing in the striped gopher hunt sponsored by the Hobo Haus.  Kent loved, spoiled, and cared for his dogs, Hercules and Midnight.  Kent also enjoyed snowmobiling, watching TV, cutting and hauling wood, and visiting and being with his friends and family.

Kent is survived by his brothers and sister, Brad (Karla) Laidley of Thief River Falls, MN, Michelle (Ray) Corbet of Newfolden, MN, Mark Laidley of Newfolden, MN, and Kevin Laidley of Newfolden, MN; nephews and nieces, Keenan and Mason Laidley, Jessica (Jay) Horn, Amber Holland, Hollie Corbet, Desarae, Paige, and Allison Corbet; great-nephews and great-nieces, Ezra, Regan, Ethan, and Bryan Horn, Madison, Gretchen, and Levi Holland, Aurie Corbet, Inez Stevens, and Josephine Corbet, and Myah Donaldson-Corbet; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Frances Laidley; his grandparents; several aunts and uncles.
