Kermit Sorenson, 82, died on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 12, 2006, Salem Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, MN with Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery, rural Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-8 PM at Johnson Funeral Service, Oklee, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.

Kermit Sorenson was born on January 21, 1924 to Harry and Agnes (Anderson) Sorenson in Garnes Township, Red Lake County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. He attended the Willow Ridge Country School.

Farming the home farm was Kermits life. He raised dairy cattle and small grains until his health forced him into retirement two years ago.

Kermit enjoyed reading and his dog Feido. He also enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and attending thrashing bees. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Kermit is survived by two sisters: Janice (Earl) Melvie, Thief River Falls, MN; Corlan (Bob) Kleinschmidt, Brownton, MN; 2 sisters in law: Marie Sorenson, Plummer, MN; Wavell Sorenson, Plummer, MN; 2 aunts: Avis Froiland, Plummer, MN; Edna Hill, Dodgeville, WI; and several nieces, nephews.

Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Virgil and Lloyd, brother in law Charlie Magnell, nephew Jason Magnell.
