Kim Knaack, 34, died Monday, August 6, 2007 as a result of a vehicle accident near Plummer, MN.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Rick Hensel officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Red Lake Falls.
Visitation will be 4 " 8 PM, Friday, August 10, 2007 at St. John Lutheran, Red Lake Falls with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to service at the church, Saturday.
Kim Robert Knaack was born March 8, 1973 at Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of Vernon and Vi (Brumwell) Knaack. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John, Red Lake Falls. He grew up there and attended school in Red Lake Falls, graduating in 1991. Kim attended Northwest Technical College for 2 years in Thief River Falls, MN in the avionics program.
On September 23, 1995, Kim was united in marriage to Sonja Rae Torgerson at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. The couple farmed for a time in the Goodridge, MN area. In 1996, Kim went to work at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls, MN as a phone technician. He has held several positions including product manager, product manager supervisor and director. His current position as vice president of semiconductor product has taken him to several different countries. In 2004, he moved to the family farm.
Kim started the Straight Up Band and played drums. He enjoyed golfing, 4-wheeling, making wine, and paint ball. He worked hard and played hard.
He is survived by wife, Sonja and their cat, Tilly, Red Lake Falls, MN; mother, Vi Knaack, Red Lake Falls, MN; brothers and sisters, Lyle Knaack, Red Lake Falls, MN, Sharon (Roger) Schatzke, Billings, MT, Bonita (Darwin) Roth, New Leipzig, ND, Verna (Michael) Prebeg, Goodland, MN and Leslie (Doria) Knaack, Crookston, MN; sister-in-law, Anita (Wayne) Mensen, Randall, MN; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sandra Cobb, Thief River Falls, MN, and Philip Torgerson, Thief River Falls, MN and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by father, Vernon and grandparents.
