Kory Don Skallet, 42, of Thief River Falls, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2016 at his home.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.

Kory was born in Thief River Falls, MN on July 27, 1974 to Ronald and Jan (Roisland) Skallet. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1992. He was united in marriage to Jessica Hanson in August 1999.  Kory worked for several area businesses including Arctic Cat, PTI and most recently Renzenbergers. He enjoyed working with his hands and tinkering with anything mechanical. Generous to a fault, Kory spent countless hours helping others by repairing their vehicles or working on anything else that needed to be done. He was an exceptional baker and was always willing to share.  Kory enjoyed the yearly deer hunt, attending his son's football and baseball games, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He especially loved spending time with his family, son Hunter and step-son Parker.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Kory is survived by his son Hunter; step-son Parker; his parents, Ron and Jan Skallet; siblings, Ronnie (Valerie) of Thief River Falls, MN, Aaron of Duluth, MN; sister, Rebecca (Patrick) Glasser of Thief River Falls, MN, niece Brenna; nephew Brady; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
