LaMarr William Hanson II passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2015 in St. Cloud, MN. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. At LaMarr's request, a family military service was held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Camp Ripley Veteran's Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. LaMarr William Hanson II was born on May 22, 1959 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of LaMarr and Dixie (Gullikson) Hanson and went to school in Thief River Falls, MN. He joined the United States Navy in 1977 and was stationed in Hawaii. He graduated from the Police Academy in Minneapolis, MN and worked as a private investigator for several years in the Minneapolis area. Family and those who knew him best called him Billy. He had a zest for life, a wonderful and infections sense of humor, quick mind, and a love of the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his family, Tom Hanson of Everett, WA, sisters, Nita (Gary) Young of Coos Bay, OR, Nicole (Greg) Hanson-Spaulding of Red Lake Falls, MN, Shelly Hanson of Seattle, WA, Nancy Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN; nieces, Nachele (Ryan) Kolden and Samantha Young; nephews, Nick and Ben Olson and Cole Young; great nieces, Alanna and Maizie; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie Hanson; father, LaMarr Hanson; and brother, Robert Hanson. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the VA organization of your choice.
