Larry Wayne Anenson Sr., age 71, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Rev. Frank Ehling officiating. Interment will follow at Telemarken Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Larry Anenson Sr. was born on August 31, 1944 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Henry and Christina Anenson.

Larry grew up on a farm in Goodridge, MN. In 1962 he graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN. One of his proudest high school moments was being part of the wrestling team and participating in the state tournament. After high school he worked various jobs and also helped his dad on the farm.

Larry married Sandra Ranum in 1966 in Sisseton, SD. They were happily married for almost 50 years. They moved to California and he worked road construction until 1979 when he moved the family back to Thief River Falls, MN. He worked road construction and Arctic Cat until his retirement.

Larry enjoyed many activities which included deer hunting with his brother Vernon and his nephews. Larry loved to grow a large garden and raise pigs every year. He loved to cut wood for the winter and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to watch the Minnesota Vikings and he was a true fan of theirs.

Larry is survived by his loving spouse, Sandra of Thief River Falls, MN; his children, Lori (Shane) Bothum of Karlstad, MN, Larry Anenson Jr. of Moorhead, MN, Gary Anenson of Thief River Falls, MN, Geri Saragosa of Thief River Falls, MN, and Terry Anenson of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings, Orlene (John) Marchal of Florida, Arlis (Ron) Proulx of East Grand Forks, MN, Burnell Nynas of Tuscan, AZ, Barbara Manson of Rosemount, MN, Vernon (Pat) Anenson of Thief River Falls, MN, Christy (Fred) Mendoza of Tuscan, AZ, and Robert (Jane) Anenson of Mounds View, MN; sister- in-law, Susan (Robert) Brekke of Billings, MT; brother-in-law, Bob Gulbranson; grandchildren, Ashley, Beau, Tyler, Jenna, Marcella, Andrew, and Liam; great-grandchildren, Alysha, Hailey, and Molly, and also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mavis Pickler and Brenda Gulbranson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stanley and Violet Ranum; brothers-in-law, Edward Pickler, Roger Ranum, and Virgil Ranum; and son-in-law, Thomas Saragosa Jr.
