Larry Douglas Johnson of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on January 20, 2026, at the Thief River Care Center at the age of 86 years.
Larry was born on March 7, 1939 to Lloyd and Emily (Jacobson) Johnson in Thief River Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire, MN. He attended grade school in St. Hilaire and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1957. He graduated from University of MN School of Agriculture in 1959.
Larry married Sharon Anderson on July 15, 1961, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. To this union a daughter, Carrie, was born.
Larry worked for 32 years for Farmers Union GTA and managed elevators in Pittsburgh ND, Glasston ND and Warren MN. After retiring they moved to Thief River Falls and enjoyed traveling and spending winters in California.
Larry is survived by his wife Sharon of 64 years, daughter Carrie (John) Hendrickson of Mankato, MN. Granddaughters Dana (Stanley) Chapman of Mesa, AZ, Nicolette (Corbin) Rapp of Moorhead, MN, Christina (Josh) Finley of Mankota, MN. Five great-grandchildren Zackery, Mattie, Audrey, Ayla and Beckett, twin brother, Lee (Carole) Johnson and sister, Cherry Jacobson, sister-in-law Arlene Swenson and many nieces and nephews.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Ben and Ethel Anderson; brothers-in-law Ron Swenson and Bill Jacobson.
Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew him and may his memory be blessed.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
