Larry Ross Kruse, 71, passed away on April 13, 2026, at CentraCare in St. Cloud, Minnesota, under Hospice Care.
Larry was born on April 3, 1955, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, to Frank J. Kruse and Rachel (Pray) Kruse. He was raised in Red Lake Falls, where he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Lafayette High School, graduating in Red Lake Falls. He continued his education at Thief River Falls Community College and Moorhead State University.
Larry dedicated his professional life to public service, working as a City Administrator in several communities across north central Minnesota. Over the course of his career, he served the cities of Red Lake Falls, Thief River Falls, Park Rapids, Willmar, Baxter, and Albertville. His commitment to local government and community development left a lasting impact on the many communities he served.
Outside of his career, Larry enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his steady presence, and the contributions he made to the communities he called home.
Larry is survived by his sister, Polly (Lyle) Longtin; his brother, Steve Kruse; his nephews, Brett Longtin and Nathan Bremer; his nieces, Linnae Weinrich and Tatum Katzenmeyer; his longtime companion, Sandy Johnson; as well as many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. Kruse and Rachel (Pray) Kruse; his sister, Peggy Bremer; and his brother-in-law, Vance Bremer.
A burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota on Thursday April 30, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Father Bob Schreiner Presiding. A luncheon will be held in Larry’s honor at St. Joseph Catholic Church following the service.
He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew him.
